Why Don’t You Take Insurance?

That's because insurance usually requires a medical diagnosis before reimbursing you for your treatment. Not everyone has the means for this. Most insurance companies do not cover the full scope of wellness coaching, particularly when it involves improving communication, changing relational patterns, or other non-diagnosable issues.
Focus on Mental Illness Only: Insurance companies typically cover only diagnosable mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, or adjustment disorders. They do not cover wellness-promoting services like couples coaching.
Control Over Coaching: Insurance companies often dictate the duration and frequency of sessions, as well as the length of treatment. I believe that you and I should make these decisions together based on your unique needs. I offer 60 or 90-minute sessions and provide services for as long as necessary, whether that's a few weeks or a longer, more intensive period.
Protecting Your Privacy: Using insurance means giving the company access to your confidential coaching records. I take your privacy seriously and prefer not to submit detailed session notes to insurance companies. This way, you can feel free to discuss anything with me without concerns about confidentiality. I'll also be clear about what information I can protect and what I must share by law (such as safety concerns).

The ultimate goal is to achieve long-term recovery and improve overall well-being.

Is Coaching Confidential?

Yes, our coaching sessions are absolutely confidential, and I will not share information outside of our sessions. However, there are specific legal and ethical mandates that may require me to disclose information:
  • If I believe you are at serious risk of harming yourself or someone else.
  • If any current or past abuse or neglect of a child, elder, or dependent adult is disclosed, as I am a mandated reporter and must notify the appropriate authorities.
  • If a judge or court orders me to provide notes or documentation.
Additionally, there may be times when you want me to communicate with others about your treatment. This will only be done with your written consent. If you wish for me to speak with your doctor or a previous helper, I will discuss this with you in detail before you decide whether to provide written consent.

What is Art Coaching?

Art Coaching allows individuals to express what is difficult or sometimes impossible to communicate with words. By using art, it creates an opportunity to explore the unconscious and access parts of the brain where words do not exist. It has a unique ability to heal old wounds, and I prioritize working with you to find the path to wellness that is best suited for you.
